Hello, I'm Tom Deglman... recording engineer/producer, and owner of DrcStudio in Springfield, IL.
I've been recording sound for almost my entire life (I got my first reel to reel tape recorder when I was 12). I’m an accomplished
musician as well. Early on, I
purchased the first professional 4-track analog tape machine sold in
this area and began recording demos and records with my friends of our original music.
The next few years were spent writing, recording, and performing on the
road with my band SHELTER. Soon
after that, I decided to open my studio to the
public. I then purchased tons of new recording gear… along with the area's first 8-track analog machine. Next came more
gear… and a 16-track analog machine… then Digidesign's Sound Tools... and
finally... Pro Tools.
Besides heading
DrcStudio, I also free-lance at various recording studios throughout the USA.
Some of the people I've
had the pleasure to work with over the past years include: Johnnie Johnson
(Chuck Berry), John Schlitt
(Head East, Petra), Roger Cook (mega-hit songwriter for: Elton John, The
Hollies, Ray Charles, Deep Purple, Bonnie Raitt, Don Williams, Crystal Gayle... ) Dax Baumgartner ('N Sync), Kerry Marx (Johnny Cash, Don
McLean, Seals & Crofts, Grand Ole Opry), Catherine Marx (Olivia Newton-John,
Ronnie Milsap), Mike Chapman (Garth Brooks, Black Hawk), Lea Jane Berinati
(Dolly Parton, Elvis, Kenny Rogers, George Jones), and Logan Mader (Machine
Head). I've also worked on projects utilizing the voice talents of James
Whitmore, Ozzie Smith, Peter Graves, and Kevin Kline... just to name a
few!
As you can tell, I
'm a professional... this is not a hobby or a part time thing for me.
I've spent most of my life recording and producing a diversity of
artists and styles.
Whether it’s rock, pop, country, R&B, jazz, blues, classical, or
even 5.1 surround soundtracks... I’ve done it!
